In churches established before the last century, occasionally major changes are required to update buildings, programs and the ways in which we approach the everyday operation of our church.

The past six years have been a "labour of love" for so many parishioners who involved themselves in bringing about an updating of Our Lady of the Visitation church while retaining the 160 year heritage of this wonderful parish.

Teamwork is what built our church. Teamwork continues the process of keeping us in tune with the times. Our bingo team of 40 - raising approximately $30,000 annually toward the construction of our Family Centre/Parish Hall and our church restoration funds; the auction team of 25 to 30 people who organize and operate our "Annual Charity Auction" plus the army of parishioners bringing in donations of products; our annual harvest church supper heats up ovens all over the parish for baking, making beans, salads and pickles, etc. Teamwork at its best! It is also the main ingredient in the recipe for a successful Bazaar & Bake where the annual quilt raffle draw culminates months of teamwork for ticket-sellers, crafters and donors.

If you have not yet put your name forward to participate in these fundraising projects, please do it now. Simply put your name and telephone number into the collection basket to the Fundraising Committee attention. You cannot imagine the benefits you will receive from involving yourself and perhaps your spouse. Getting to know so many other parishioners, serving as a couple on a project, having your opinion and ideas count to help mould the future plans, plus having the satisfaction of knowing that you have done your part in the progress of your church.

It's the teamwork that will drive you to want to do more for His name. It sure does for me and my wife Jeannie. A very sincere "thank you" to all who have helped so much for the past six years. Your dedication to our common cause is appreciated. May God continue to bless you in your efforts.
