Q: Is the Church available for weddings?
A: Yes. You normally need to contact the church one year in advance of your wedding date. A wedding preparation course is mandatory.
Q: Where can we take a wedding preparation course?
A: Just call OLV at 613-822-2197 and leave a message for Deacon Pat McNulty.
Q: I am not Catholic but I would like to attend your church? Is this possible?
A: Everyone is welcome at attend. At communion time, we invite you to come forward for a blessing. Only practicing Catholics can take communion.
Q: I would like to join the church. How do I do this?
A: Every year our Parish offers the Rites for Christmas Initiation in the Catholic faith (RCIA). If you are a practicing Catholic, and would simply like to transfer to our Parish, fill out the "Registration Form" available at Church. Please contact the office for more details and welcome!
Q: When is the proper time to leave mass? Is it right after I have received communion or when the choir is finished singing?
A: Mass is not completed until Father gives his final blessing. Out of courtesy to other parishioners, you are asked to wait until Father has proceeded down the isle to the door of the church.
Q: Do you have a children's mass?
A: Our 9 am Sunday Mass features a children's liturgy and children's choir.
Q: When the Family Centre/Parish Hall is completed will it be available for public rentals?
A: Yes. Please contact the office for complete details.
Q: When is confession?
A: The sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated Saturday 4:20 to 4:50 pm, by appointment or upon request.
Q: I would like to have my child baptized. How do I do this?
A: The sacrament of Baptism is held on the last Sunday of each month. For infants, please call the office at least three months in advance of your anticipated date of birth. A baptism preparation course for parents is generally required.
Q: How do I volunteer?
A: We welcome volunteers in many areas. Please call the office asap!
Q: I have ideas about fundraising and others aspects of church life. Would these be welcomed?
A: Of course. Please call the office for contact information and thank you!
Q: Who can be married in the Catholic Church?
A: Only Catholics who are free to marry or others who wish to marry a Catholic, who are free to marry, and for whom a dispensation from church law has been obtained. Contact the office for more details.
Q: Why do the colours in the church change periodically?
A: The altar cloths, the priest's vestments and the other decorations change to reflect the seasons of the Church year.
Q: How much property does OLV have?
A: Our church property comprises approximately 7 acres including the cemetery.
Q: Are plots available in the cemetery?
A: Yes. Please call the office for contact information.
Q: Where can I obtain more information on the Catholic faith and church rites?

Q: What time are our Masses?
A: Saturdays at 5 pm; Sundays at 9 and 11 am; Wednesday through Friday at 9 am. Please note that times and days may be seasonally adjusted.
