Welcome to Our Lady of the Visitation
Our Lady of the Visitation Parish is a welcoming community of people of faith and of worship - men and women, young and old, laity, religious, and clergy - called by God to share the mission of Jesus Christ.

Thank you: Many thanks to all who donated towards flowers for beautifying our Sanctuary; helped decorate; or helped with erecting the Choir area for Christmas; our Church looked smashing! Many thanks to our Choir members for their wonderful performances over Christmas and for guiding us through the changes in the Mass. Thanks to members of the Knights of Columbus who directed traffic in the parking lot at all Masses, which helped to make the parking less complicated. We are truly thankful for all the quiet volunteers behind the scenes, in the various Ministries, helping to maintain and upkeep our beautiful Church and Parish Hall. (PS...Thanks also to Fr. Brian for guiding us spiritually through the season, we are truly blessed!)

 Knights of Columbus Annual Pancake Breakfast: In the OLV Banquet Hall -- Pancakes, your choice of ham or sausage, tea, coffee, milk, or juice. Sunday, February 19th following the 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Masses. Adults $5.00, Children $3.00, Children 5 and under free.

Bingo: Come and join the OLV bingo on Wednesdays starting at 5:45 p.m. at the Rideau Carleton Entertainment Centre (4837 Albion Road). Proceeds support our church! November bingo revenue was $1,103.21. Thank you to our volunteers!

United Way Campaign 2011: If you work for a federal government department/agency or a company/organization that offers payroll deductions, you can designate your United Way donations to the building fund at Our Lady of the Visitation. Simply complete your donation card and include OLV’s CCRA tax number 128967353RR0116 (Our Lady of the Visitation). Please advise the Parish office of your donation. Our Lady of the Visitation has “The Way of the Cross" - a double CD package recorded live on Good Friday 2009 The first CD features the meditations on “The Way of the Cross” with meditative musical accompaniment. The second CD is contemplative music only "to permit maximum variety for your prayer time. Included is a full colour summary and photos taken at OLV. The double package CD is $15.00 and is available from the office or through www.spirithighway.com.
Rosaries: For a first communion gift or for yourself, Fundraising now has rosary beads and a rosary ring. There are three types of rosaries available for a donation of $10.00 each and the rosary ring is $5.00. Click here to get more details and to order yours today!!

COMMUNITY:
Roman Missal: The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) has received recognition for all sections of the English translation of the revised Roman Missal for use in Canada. The First Sunday of Advent, November 27,2011, was the date for the implementation of the English translation of the Missal. Click here to view an informative video on the revised Roman Missal.
CONSTRUCTION:
Main Entrance Lighting: Fr. Brian is pleased to announce that the new lighting of the driveway by the main entrance has now been installed for the safety and convenience for entering our property during evening hours. Many thanks to Ontario Iron Works Ltd. (Greely) and to our installation team.
COMMUNICATIONS:
OLV is initiating a new email policy, to better protect people's privacy and eliminate spam. In general, we will now endeavour to only send correspondence via BCC so that all of the email addresses are not shown. Also, please check your Trash/Junk folder as some spam filters re-direct BCC's as spam mail. By clicking on a “trashed” Email, you can view the item and also be prompted to receive future deliveries from OLV to your regular email!
